Job Description


Reporting to the Vice-President, Supplier Relations, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting our business unit managers in optimizing the company's inventory rotations and ensuring efficient and accurate procurement.

The jobholder's main mandate will be to define good inventory management practices, develop action plans tailored to each business unit, and train our managers and buyers.


This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the operational success of our company by ensuring the efficient and accurate management of our inventories, while having a positive impact on the profitability of our profit centers.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop best practices related to sound inventory management, taking into account the main objectives of service level and stock rotation, as well as the company's decentralized business model.
  • Define concrete action plans for inventory optimization and/or reduction in collaboration with profit center managers.
  • Provide regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory movements and rotations, and recommend corrective actions to operational teams where necessary.
  • Design customized supply management training programs, taking into account specific company needs and participants' skill levels.
  • Develop teaching materials, including presentations, manuals and practical exercises, to support training sessions.
  • Deliver training courses in person or via online platforms, using effective pedagogical methods to promote learning.
  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make adjustments to improve results.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of recent trends and developments in supply management in order to incorporate best practices into training programs.
  • Collaborate with all departments to establish priorities in line with corporate objectives.

Qualifications required:

  • University degree in logistics, operations management or related field.
  • Significant experience in inventory management, preferably in a distribution or retail environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in plain language and strong ability to influence peers to achieve objectives.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software (Epicor, SAP, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fastpaced, flexible environment.


The incumbent must be perfectly bilingual (French and English) and must be able to travel across Canada for an average of 5 to 10 days per month.
