JOB TEXT:

Full time term contract for Itinerant Teacher for Coding and Maker-Centered Learning. Duties to commence September 5, 2023 to June 21, 2024


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creating with 3D printers
  • Setting up makerspaces
  • Integrating computational thinking and maker education throughout curriculum areas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced educator with record of leadership and innovation
  • Bachelor degree in Education (technology or other relevant specialization)
  • Experience implementing classroom activities that promote coding, computational thinking, and maker education
  • Experience with coding software and interfacing
  • Thorough knowledge of curriculum design and pedagogy at the K12 level
  • A studentfocused approach to learning and teaching
  • Knowledge of effective professional learning theory and practice
  • Knowledge and support for the use of technology in learning and teaching
  • Ability to collaborate with others and build and maintain professional relationships with teachers of all grade levels
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to district technology team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Fluency in French would be an asset
Significant travel required throughout the district.
