The Group employs nearly 2,000 staff of which approximately 1300 are based in Väderstad, Sweden and 300 in sales companies in Europe.

The company's colorful history dates to the early 1960s and has since been characterized by an entrepreneurial spirit and the development of innovative farm machinery.

Väderstad's entry into the North American market dates to 2006 when it acquired a 49 per cent ownership stake in Seed Hawk, a Canadian manufacturer of leading technology in direct seeding.

As early as Spring 2007, the first Seed Hawk machines arrived in Australia, Ukraine, and Russia.

With Seed Hawk in the program the Väderstad product family expanded considerably, to include a wide portfolio of cultivation and seeding equipment suitable for all tillage techniques from no-till seeding to conventional tillage.

The enhanced product range meets the needs for smaller growers, as well as the largest broad acre businesses.

Today, Väderstad's North American operations are primarily focused on Canada and the United States of America and mainly with its Seedhawk (air seeders), Tempo (planters) and Carriers, Tillage - (Wilrich and Wishek) products.

Currently, Väderstad's organization in North America (US and Canada.) is a team of approximately 400 people located in offices and factories Langbank, Regina and Wahpeton.

North American revenue is in the CDN$300ml range, with equipment and parts distributed through a dealer network.

An innovative and growth-oriented company, Väderstad is focused on significantly expanding its North American market presence in Canada and a more aggressive and intentional expansion of its current activities in the U.S.

With a goal of becoming a North American leader in seeding, planting, and tillage equipment, Väderstad's target is to achieve revenues of CDN$500ml within 3- 5 years through the sale of products manufactured in Canada, USA, and Sweden and through an ever-expanding North American dealer channel.
