Receiver
Shift:
Days (6:00am - 2:30pm)
Reports To:
Receiving Supervisor
Primary Objectives:
- Maintain and improve branch profitability and excellent customer service through:
- Correctly identifying and receiving all product into the building
- Contacting suppliers with discrepancies and working through any issues to maintain a positive relationship
- Working with accounts payable to solve invoicing issues
- Ensure that all safety standards are met and exceeded as outlined in the Company Safety Manual
- Demonstrate personal responsibility and accountability daily with regard to attitude, job performance, professionalism and commitment to continuous development
- Support and promote the company's Mission and Vision
Key Accountabilities:
- Record shipments on receiving log
- Assist driver unloading supplier trucks
- Enter Bill of Lading number into the Eclipse System for collect shipments
- Unpack boxes and confirm items received against packing slips
- Print P.O. and match what was ordered to what was received
- Receive damaged product as defective and notify supplier to bill the courier
- Print labels for items requiring them
- Place stock items to totes for Material Handler to put away
- Place nonstock items into stock immediately
- Process incorrect orders. Indicate the problem with the shipment and contact the person for A/P to follow up with when the invoice comes in
- Adjust system for shipping errors
- Process returns that are to go back into stock
- Ensure material to be crossdocked is placed in the proper staging area for prompt delivery
- Schedule deliveries of 3 or more skids to ensure flow of product remains uninterrupted
- Deliver personally addressed packages to individuals within the company
- Keep receiving bay clean
- Other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Thorough HVAC and/or plumbing product knowledge
- Prior warehouse experience required; prior receiving experience an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to customer service
- Strong organizational skills to effectively prioritize tasks and maintain paperwork
- Ability to utilize office and warehouse equipment, including a computerized inventory gun, the computer, phones, tow motor and picker
- Ability to work overtime as required to receive a shipment or to assist the department with a heavy workload
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with high pressure for results
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to analyze the importance of situations and respond appropriately
- Physically agile in order to lift, carry and move large and awkward items
