Labourer 2:


Regular Full-Time

The City of North Vancouver Engineering, Parks and Environment Department requires a regular full-time Labourer 2 in the Streets Section.


You will perform manual work entailing considerable physical effort and agility in public works and in particular streets related work.

You will operate a variety of compressor tools such as mobile spray units, jackhammers, tampers and drills, act as a signalman for equipment operators, assist with installing traffic markings, assist in the construction and repair of sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and signs, and perform related semi-skilled tasks on roads and pavements.

Work assignments may also be in any of the Engineering Operations work sections, based on operational requirements.


You will have related experience in streets maintenance and construction and good knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in streets work.

You must have demonstrated ability to perform heavy physical labouring / manual work. A valid Class 5 Drivers License is required.

You must also be able to deal effectively with the public and embrace values such as teamwork, respect, a positive attitude, professionalism and integrity.


Salary:

$29.71 per hour
(January 2021 rates)


Hours of Work:

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
