Responsibilities:


  • You are required to work with mínimal supervision in all phases of the operation of a Multiuse Facility. The incumbent will be required to assess work priorities and carry out duties with mínimal supervision.

Duties included but not limited to:

  • Building/equipment maintenance, customer service and janitorial duties.
  • Ice making and maintenance.
  • Direct and coordinate parttime employees.


  • Event setup/conversions

  • Kitchener Auditorium Complex.
  • Maintains sports fields in the summer, including cutting grass, line trimming, general litter cleanup.
  • Requirements:
  • Must have a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a minimum of 12 months experience working in an artificial ice arena.
  • Must have a valid "G" class driver's license in good standing.
  • Must have a valid TSSA Refrigeration Operator B certificate.
  • Must successfully complete required progression criteria as it relates to this position (CUPE 68).
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts, WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS, and overtime as required.
  • Must have demonstrated communication skills with a customer service focus.
  • Must be able to keep accurate records and logs for facility incidents and equipment.
  • Must be prepared to be trained in the operation of all related equipment and work skills
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be willing to attend mandatory staff training sessions and successfully pass the course requirements.
  • Must have the ability to support and project values compatible with the organization.
  • Must attend and successfully complete emergency firstaid training.
  • Must have or be able to obtain computer competency in ActiveNet, Building Controls and Outlook, as well as basic Microsoft Office.
  • Current Employees: Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
