Reporting to the Manager, Materials and Logistics in Ontario, as the Distribution Leader, you will be responsible for leading all planning, direction, and management of the distribution team in our Edmonton Warehouse.

You will be responsible for the management and distribution of our products ensuring we consistently meet customer expectations.

As a hands-on leader, you will influence and engage the team, ensure we are compliant with all environmental health and safety requirements, live our values and leadership behaviors, support customer service, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do

  • Creates a culture around safety and actively identifies best practices
  • Drives employee engagement through 1:1 interactions
  • Develop and deliver annual performance reviews, manage internal relationships and attendance issues
  • Directs Pickers, Receivers, and Shippers
  • Responsible for observing and monitoring employee performance (PMP process)
  • Accountable for insuring department is Shipping to AOP targets
  • Capable of decision making and problem solving that aligns with our values and policies
  • Communicates and updates remote manager
  • Experience presenting, interpreting, measuring, and establishing KPIs
  • Performs Shipment Planning function as required to ensure the proper prioritization of customer order based on SOP
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills
  • Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
  • Ensures that the facility is organized, clean, (5S), and safe
  • Keeping consistent and accurate information flow to customer service. Completing expedites
  • Manage staging of orders and shipment schedules
  • Participates in yearend inventory including preparing the shipping/receiving area and store for physical count
  • Responsible for first aid and accident management
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Experience with lean tools to drive continuous improvement
What you will need

  • Minimum of 5 years management experience as a Distribution Supervisor in a similar work environment
  • Postsecondary education and/or minimum five (5) years relevant work experience in a lead supervisory capacity
  • Supervision of warehouse staff, coordinate and prioritize workflow, provide training, and disciplinary procedures
  • Performance evaluation on a daily, weekly, and quarterly basis
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and ability to create tools by using: Excel (including the use of power query), working with SharePoint sites, experience with the use of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to work well with and through others
  • Good decisionmaking & problemsolving capabilities
  • Physically capable of performing the demands of the job; must be able to drive Reach Trucks, Order Pickers and powered walkies
