Job Description:

AECOM GTA is hiring an Operations & Maintenance Specialist - Transit & Rail.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
  • Help develop strategic plans; build relationships with public and private clients (contractors) and the industry leaders.
  • Help grow the Operation & Maintenance service in the Transit & Rail Systems practice by the development of pursuit strategies, technical concepts, and proposal technical approaches
  • Help identify, attract, and assist in recruiting additional O&M staff in the GTA, as well as retain, and develop staff to grow the service.
  • Design and evaluate the technical governance of projects.
  • Work within a team structure and deliver an effective technical strategy to manage fit for purpose engineering design and safe project delivery in line with defined employer requirements.
  • Preparation, approval, issue, and management of technical specifications.
  • Establish and maintain Design Authority arrangements.
  • Undertake project governance roles as required.
  • Provide technical oversight on technical matters during execution of projects
  • Work on project site as required
  • Experience in reliability centered maintenance and assurance
  • Understanding and experience in the upkeep of fleet reliability and best practices as well as fleet maintenance strategies
  • Develop and review rail systems maintenance plans and procedures
  • Develop, review, support in the selection of, and implementation of asset management and maintenance strategies of rail systems, including revenue vehicles
  • Ability to optimize warranty and procurement materials management processes
  • Familiar with the development of transitioning strategies
  • Develop and review fleet testing, preventative and corrective maintenance plans and procedures.
  • Understanding and experience in the Systems Engineering lifecycle, including V&V, Systems Architecture, Requirements Management, Configuration Management, and Interface Management.
  • Produce RAMS Validation and Verification plans and reports
  • Set up RAM demonstration plan and FRACAS procedures in cooperation with project management and field team
  • Determine effective maintenance strategies for equipment reliability using FMECA analysis

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical or electrical) + 6+ years of relevant experience in Rail Systems, operations and maintenance, and reliabilitycentered maintenance.
  • Driving License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • P Eng
  • RCM-R Certification
  • Enterprise Asset Information Systems (Maximo)
  • Ideally 15+ years of experience working on Metro or Tram Systems.
  • Used to implement and work under the principles of following standards: IEEE 1220, IEEE 24748,

ISO :
Systems Engineering Life Cycle processes & Interface management; ISO 50163:

  • Experience in system assurance
  • Design experience and inner knowledge of transit/rail projects will be preferred
