Lead Cook - Ottawa, Canada - Bruyère Continuing Care

Function Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Nutrition and Food services, this role is responsible for offering its clientele (Dining Room and Cluster), quality products and superior operations such as the establishment of menus, inventory management or preparation, cooking, food processing, etc.
Tasks include:
- Develop all menu items for the Dining Room and Clusters, ensuring regular renewal based on seasonality or trends.
- Coordinate kitchen activities with the dining room and cluster to ensure prompt and courteous service.
- Complete the necessary orders by controlling the inventory and minimizing losses.
- Lead the team by ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
- Use the equipment at his/her disposal to cook the meals on time.
Is committed to patient and resident safety, on-going learning and continuous quality improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) years college diploma in culinary management, food theory or equivalent.
- Red Seal holder, Red Seal Trades Program.
- Smart Serve Certification.
- Five (5) years of experience in a senior's residence, dining room area.
