Rotation/Shifts:

Days, 8 hour shifts.


What you will do:


Reporting to the Manager of Wellness, Engagement & Recognition, and under the guidance of the Coordinators, Events & Recognition, the Assistant, Events & Recognition is responsible for supporting the planning, organizing, coordinating, promoting and roll-out of corporate events (including, but not limited to, Staff Appreciation Week, Winter Celebration, Long Service Awards Ceremony and Excellence Awards Ceremony).


The Assistant, Events & Recognition, under the guidance of the Officer, Engagement & Retention, is also responsible for supporting the operational activities relating to the corporate Recognition Programs (including, but not limited to, Long Service Awards Program and Excellence Awards Program) and related initiatives (e.g., You First Program, corporate contests and prizes, etc.).


What you will bring:


  • One (1) year College Diploma in Communications, Event Planning, Public Relations, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field;
  • One (1) year of experience supporting events, communications, public relations, marketing, or related relevant experience;
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have regular access to a reliable car;
  • Experience with various modes and platforms of event delivery: virtual, in person and hybrid;
  • Exceptional organizational skills and detailorientation with a focus on quality and accuracy;
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and oral);
  • Ability to support multiple projects with conflicting time frames;
  • Ability to problemsolve and to think critically;
  • Strong clientservice orientation and ability to remain professional at all times;
  • Capable of working independently, while being a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Must be wellpoised and can collaborate with internal partners (across many different levels of the organization) and external partners (such as vendors, including the ability to request and discuss quotes and partnerships);
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS suite and Outlook, Excel, Teams and Sharepoint.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing, at times, over 30 pounds without assistance.
