JOB SUMMARY:
At Merit Kitchens, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintaining appropriate financial documentation through an organized system of filing.
Other responsibilities will include producing monthly accounting reports, making accurate monthly remittances, recording deposits, as well as processing payable and received cheques, assisting with annual audit working papers, and ensuring the timely and accurate invoicing and vouchering.

Hours: 8:00AM to 4:30PM.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable ensuring they are updated with daily transactions following standard policy and procedures.
- Perform coding and matching of invoices with Purchase Order receipts.
- Analyze vendor accounts, and coordinate issues for resolution.
- Ensure accurate processing of vendor payments with complete documentation.
- Ensure Accounts Payable invoices have been approved by authorized management prior to processing.
- Prepare customer invoices.
- Keep the Controller informed of potential accounting and billing problems.
- Act as the first line of contact with vendor inquiries.
- Manage general accounting inbox and address items as necessary.
- Maintain an organized filing system for all appropriate documents.
- Produce accurate monthly accounting reports.
- Perform clerical duties, such as maintaining filing and record systems.
The Accounting Clerk may perform other duties as delegated by Management.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently studying or graduated in a postsecondary degree or diploma in Business.
- Administration, Finance or Accounting is considered an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Experience performing mathematical computations accurately and swiftly.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
- Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Strong problem identification and problemsolving skills.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
SALARY/WAGE EXPECTATION:
- Hourly rate of $18$21/hour based on experience.
