About The Role:
Reporting to the Department Manager, Mechanical, the Foreman, Mechanical is responsible for executing on project plans and managing site level staff to ensure each project is completed on schedule, on budget, at the expected level of quality.
The Foreman, Mechanical owns each project in their portfolio, and alongside project performance, takes full responsibility for site level customer communication, site safety, and the overall customer experience.
On most projects, the Foreman will act as both manager and site level contributor, completing work tasks alongside the site team.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to- Observe, test, and install newly built machinery;
- Monitor workers on site to ensure safe work procedures are followed;
- Execute project handoff, labour management, labour expectations, and material management on site;
- Interpret and study blueprints to determine correct installation and operation of machinery;
- Present daily project progress reports, challenges, and feedback to the Project Manager;
- Go the extra mile to ensure that the project is executed to the best of Uptime's abilities.
What You Bring:
Our Must Haves
- Strong adherence to safety policies and procedures;
- Strong adherence to processes and maintaining accountability;
- Experience with implementing quality control and assurance standard practices;
- Successfully obtained your Red Seal Millwright/Welder/Fabricator certification;
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Foreman position;
- Minimum 10 years' of experience as a Millwright/Welder/Fabricator;
- Hold a valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract;
- Committed to customer service and going the extra mile while servicing clients;
- Ability to think on your feet and utilize strong problemsolving capabilities;
- Experience working in the food, horticulture, or manufacturing industry will be considered an asset.

Wage: $47.00-$51.00 per hour
