(Offered in English) A study of various onscreen adaptations of modern Italian novels, short stories, and plays. Authors and film directors studied include Giorgio Bassani, Bernardo Bertolucci, Eduardo De Filippo, Vittorio De Sica, Alberto Moravia, Ettore Scola, Giovanni Verga, Luchino Visconti.

Salary:
Sessional Lecturer I - $9,457.90 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $9,930.79 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
Sessional Lecturer II - $10,121.77 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $10,326.62 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
Sessional Lecturer III - $10,362.76 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $10,570.02 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum qualifications:
Applicants must have completed a PhD in Italian Studies, with demonstrated knowledge in the specific area of the course including, but not limited to different subgenres within 20th century Italian Literature, Italian Cinema, Literary Journalism, and the Historical Novel.
Preferred qualifications:
Demonstrated excellence in teaching this course, or a similar course at the university-level, is preferred.
Relevant experience with the film-making industry and/or familiarity with workshop-based instruction is preferred.
Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II and Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.
