D U T I E S
Reporting to the Director, International Education and Global Partnerships, the Administrative
Assistant is responsible for providing office reception and administrative support to the Director
and the Centre for International Education and Global Partnerships.

The Administrative Assistant performs a wide range of responsibilities, ensuring effective and
efficient management support and assistance. Acting as the Director's initial contact for issues
related to students, staff and program areas, the incumbent interacts daily with a variety of
internal and external stakeholders and responds to issues of varying complexity. This includes
gathering relevant information, assessing urgency, and scheduling meetings and appointments.
The incumbent provides administrative support by managing and distributing information within
the department, writing memos and taking minutes, maintaining filing systems and electronic
databases, sending/receiving correspondence, and completing/submitting forms, claims and
statistics and reports, and provides assistance in the development and implementation of
processes to increase office efficiencies. This position also distributes mail and maintains office
supplies.

  • Postsecondary certificate in office or business administration. An equivalent combination of
- training and experience in administration or business may be considered
  • Demonstrated proficiency, accuracy and attention to detail in administrative tasks
  • Experience building relationships and working collaboratively in a team environment and with

- all stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and perform duties with tact and diplomacy
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Experience planning, scheduling and coordinating meetings
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Problem solving, decision making skills, and analytical skills and the ability to deal with issues

  • Experience working in international education with a postsecondary institution
