Description

McMaster is a university with impact seeking an Associate Vice President & Chief Facilities Officer (AVP & CFacO) to lead its Facility Services team as they embark on ambitious new capital projects, work towards sustainability goals, and advance the academic mission of McMaster.

Ranked among the top 100 universities globally, through its cutting-edge research and world-class teaching and learning, McMaster University is focused on advancing human and societal health and well-being - in the local community and around the world.

As the pioneer of problem-based learning, McMaster has a rich history of educational innovation.

Together, McMaster's six Faculties (Business, Engineering, Health Sciences, Humanities, Sciences, and Social Sciences) are home to more than 1,600 faculty members (including clinicians) and dedicated professional and support staff.

The University's national and international reputation attracts over 34,000 undergraduate and 5,600 graduate students.

The Associate Vice-President and Chief Facilities Officer provides leadership of the University's facilities management operations and is accountable for the strategic direction of the Facility Services Department supported by over 350 staff.

The AVP & CFacO oversees the effective, accessible, and sustainable use of the University's campus and physical facilities, including building design, planning, construction, and maintenance services; utility services and energy and waste management; engineering operations; campus logistics/mail services; custodial services and grounds management.

In executing this enterprise-wide role, the AVP must form effective and collaborative relationships with members of the President and Vice-Presidents' group, the Deans, external partners, and regional campuses, and all other senior leaders across the University (within central administration and the faculties).

They also lead the advancement of the University's Sustainability Strategy, the Campus Plan, the development of the annual capital plan, the construction and development of property, and other key institutional initiatives, all in collaboration with the team of AVPs.
