Fleet Technician (EVO Car Share) - Join our growing Evo Team

Our Evo Team has expanded yet again and is looking to hire a Regular Full-time Fleet Technician


The Fleet Field Technician role is primarily responsible for helping to achieve a high quality member experience with our fleet of vehicles and the locations where they reside.

This role is also responsible for providing technical support for a large fleet of vehicles distributed throughout Vancouver.

  • Key Responsibilities:_

Under the guidance of the Manager, Fleet Operations:

  • Provides rapid response to all 3rd level support vehicle tickets (damage, accident, telematics troubles) and determining best course of action for fast resolution of each vehicle ticket.
  • Troubleshooting vehicle problems and dealing with fleet-specific enquiries.
  • Photograph and record damages of vehicles for review by Associate Manager.
  • Inspect; document and determines best course of action for any vehicles involved in accidents or major damage reports from members.
  • Work with Associate Fleet Manager to test, diagnose, service and repair in vehicle telematics equipment in most cost effective manner.
  • Perform repairs, battery boosting, buffing or minor touch-ups. replacement of parts and equipment
  • Distributes and collects damaged vehicles to external repair partners to Evo's quality standards.
  • Work with Associate Fleet Manager to prepare cars for in-fleeting and de-fleeting.
  • Drives vehicles to various locations for cleaning, maintenance and repairs.
  • Prepares cars for in-fleeting and de-fleeting.
  • Responsible for random spot checks of cleanliness, fuel level, settings of vehicles to assess quality of work of external maintenance partner.
  • Performs light maintenance functions such as swapping control boxes and changing tires.
  • May clean in and around the parking spaces and signage as well as snow removal where necessary
  • Liaises with others on the team, Member Service and Marketing, to fulfill all cross-functional requirements
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:_

Education:


  • Grade 12 education with level 1 or 2 automotive or electrical apprenticeship

Experience:


  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in the automotive or rental industry
  • Ideally experience in a startup environment
  • Communication or telematics experience a plus

Other Skills:

  • Proven knowledge of, and passion for automobiles and the sharing economy
  • Demonstrated superior communication skills both verbally & written
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with members in a professional manner
  • Proven ability to work with simple electronics, and other power tools
  • Must have strong skills in technical configuration and installation, documentation generation, and quality assurance processes.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to adjust to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and manage time independently
  • Familiarity with the geography of Vancouver area
  • Must be able to provide a clear divers' abstract, annual renewal required.
