The Assistant Manager

  • Laundry provides guidance & instruction to the Laundry team, delegates work, oversees progress towards goals, and coaches team members as needed. They also organize & supervise the work to ensure production expectations are met. When needed, this position actively works within the laundry room as business demands.


The Assistant Manager-Laundry plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and quality of linens, towels, and sheets used throughout the property, including the guest rooms, dining room, and spa.

This position is essential in maintaining the impeccable standards for which Langdon Hall is known.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • 1.

Laundry Operations Management:
_

  • Supervise and coordinate the daytoday activities of the laundry department, ensuring efficient and timely processing of dirty linens, towels, and sheets from guest rooms, dining room, and spa.
  • Oversee the operation of laundry equipment, including washing machines, dryers, and ironing machines.
  • Monitor and optimize workflow to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and free from stains or damage.
  • Report any damaged or worn linens to the Housekeeping Management team for replacement.
  • 3.

Inventory Management:
_

  • Maintain accurate records of linen inventory and requisition as necessary.
  • Keep track of detergent, bleach, and other cleaning supplies, ensuring an adequate stock is maintained.
  • 4.

Laundry Operations:
_

  • Collect, sort, and inspect all dirty linens, towels, and sheets from guest rooms, dining room, and spa.
  • Load and operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment.
  • Fold and store clean linens and towels.
  • 5.

Safety and Compliance:
_

  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines when using laundry equipment and handling cleaning chemicals.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized laundry room.
  • 6.

Teamwork:
_

  • Collaborate with housekeeping staff to ensure timely delivery of clean linens to guest rooms, dining room, and spa.
  • Assist in other housekeeping tasks as needed

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Prior experience in a commercial laundry supervisory role
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience
  • Knowledge of laundry equipment and cleaning products.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain order in the laundry room.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy laundry bags, up to 50 lbs
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
