Description:


An introduction to a wide range of topics situated in modernism, postmodernism, and the contemporary that inform current art practice and critical discourse.

The course investigates post-1970 art practice through diverse societal, cultural, and political influences of contemporary critical thought.


Class Schedule:
Monday & Wednesday 2:00pm - 5:00pm


Sessional dates of appointment:
May 1, June 30, 2024


Estimate of the course enrolment:
Approximately 100 students per section


Salary:

Sessional Lecturer I - $9,457.90; Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $9,930.79; Sessional Lecturer II - $10,121.77; Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $10,326.62; Sessional Lecturer III - $10,362.

76; Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $10, inclusive of vacation pay)

Minimum Qualifications:

MA, MFA (or equivalent graduate degree), or PhD (or equivalency in professional experience and terminal degree) in the field and lecture teaching experience.

Applicants may be asked to supply references.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching art and design students.


Description of Duties:

Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.
