Plant Manager (Stone)
Position Summary:
The Stone Plant Manager is accountable for all operations at the Plant, providing leadership to achieve Company performance goals while living the core values of the organization.
Qualifications:
years production experience in a leadership capacity ideally within similar industry
- Advanced computer skills, experienced with Microsoft Office, ability to learn other software as needed
- Ability to plan, adapt and be decisive to solve problems, often in ambiguous situations
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to maintain calm, approachable demeanor with challenging situations/deadlines
- Ability to coach, train and develop employees
- Capable of operating and training others on specialized equipment
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and perform accurate measurements
- Able to lift 60100lbs occasionally
- Regular lifting, bending and twisting
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Manages all plant staff, creating and enforcing efficient and effective systems, policies and procedures to meet the needs of the customer and the company
- Oversees all plant activities with an active presence and strong knowledge of all materials and processes
- Creates and manages Key Metrics for plant performance, communicating performance to all teams
- Responsible to achieve plant performance goals, setting S.M.A.R.T. goals and regularly reporting on milestone progress. Proactively escalating offtrack performance to address issues
- Motivates, coaches and develops all plant staff, specifically responsible to develop leadership skills in supervisory staff and other core areas.
- Supporting supervisory staff to conduct consistent and effective interviews and staff evaluations, including constructive discipline processes and compensation decisions.
- Maintains strong knowledge of leadership and industry best practices through continuous learning
- Leads by example and acts as an advocate for safe work practices and the importance of PPE
- Works with Branch teams to maintain forecasts, developing strategic labour and capacity plans for the Plant
- Collaborates to ensure availability of materials, and effective inventory systems and reporting
- Works with executive team to plan for capital expenditure projects (ie. Equipment/plant upgrades).
