Key Responsibilities:

Collect incoming samples, record volumes and receiver information.

Input data collected into our waste tracking database

Assist, Operate, and monitor all waste movement and processing in the facility.

Determine processing and disposal methods based on laboratory coding.


Communicate effectively with all members of the GFL Team and utilize internal database systems for quality control checks and information logging.

Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and sufficient supplies are retained on hand for clients.

Participate in GFL's safety program including safety meetings, last minute risk assessments and job hazard assessments.

Professionally represent GFL on all client sites and look for ways to expand services and increase efficiencies.


Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

Previous experience withing the waste management industry.

Previous experience with collection, submission, and evaluation of waste samples for laboratory analysis.

Environmental technician Diploma or equivalent certificate an asset.

Valid Class G drivers license with clean drivers abstract.

Valid forklift license an asset.

TDG knowledge and experience.

Excellent communication and record keeping skills.

Ability to perform physical, labour-intensive tasks throughout the course of the day.

Ability to work independently and organize tasks to completion.

Understanding of O.reg's pertaining to waste facilities.
