GHGSat offers greenhouse gas detection, measurement, and monitoring services to industrial and government customers around the world.

We use our own satellites and aircraft sensors, combined with third-party data, to help industrial emitters better understand, control, and reduce their emissions.


GHGSat's capability is unique:
we provide high-resolution, local measurements of atmospheric methane and carbon dioxide concentration from space. This enables us to detect greenhouse gas emitters and visualize and quantify their emissions.


We are looking for a Contracts Administrator to support GHGSat's Director Legal & Contracts in the negotiation and drafting of various agreements related to operation of satellites under Canada's Remote Sensing Space Systems Act as well as other contracts as required.

This position is a full-time, 6-month contract with a strong possibility of permanency.


Responsibilities:


  • Participate in the negotiation with the Canadian government and the drafting of the amendment to GHGSat's Operating license under the Remote Sensing Space Systems Act.
  • Participate in the negotiation and drafting of various system participant agreements required to support GHGSat's business activities.
  • Participate in the negotiation with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (Engineering, Planning and Standards Branch) and the drafting of various frequency coordination agreements with satellite operators.
  • Provide advice and guidance on:
  • licensing requirements for launch activities;
- licensing requirements for satellites for remote sensing purposes.

  • Participate in the negotiation and drafting of various other types of agreements such as Confidentiality Agreements, Sales Agreements, Purchasing Agreements.
  • Analyze requirements and provisions in contracts, including terms and conditions, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure contracts are executed in accordance with corporate and company policies and procedures.
  • Support the Director Legal & Contracts with other contractual and legal tasks as required.

Skills:


  • Knowledge of air and space law, the Remote Sensing Space Systems Act and other international treaties and legislation related to the geospatial industry and earth observation applied to satellite imagery would be an asset.
  • Experience in contract drafting and negotiations.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS-Office environment (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

Qualifications:


  • University degree in administration, business, law or any related field.
  • Two (2) years experience in a similar position.
