Planning Forester with an operational forest development background to work out of our
Edmonton, AB office.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Planning Forester will work with Forsite's senior planners and analysts to deliver strategic, tactical and operational planning projects for our clients.

You should have a demonstrated problem-solving ability, strong written and oral communications skills, and an ability to develop realistic plans within complex and challenging stewardship situations.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

A safety conscious attitude;
Postsecondary education within natural resources management;
Registered or eligible to be registered as an RPF or RPFT with the AAFMP;
Minimum 5 years of related experience in the forest sector, ideally involving operational forest development, plan preparation and submissions, timber supply, forest management planning and forest inventory;
Experience in wildfire risk and fuels management, landscape ecology and planning process facilitation are an asset;
Knowledgeable and experienced in a range of forestry related software, ESRI
GIS software suite, and Microsoft Office Suite; and
A valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Able to work both independently under limited direct supervision as well as in a project team environment;
Flexible with strong organizational and time management skills to with ability to work under pressure to meet targets; and
Able to work with excellent attention to detail with work accuracy and quality.
