Transcare Logistics Corporation (Hamilton) is looking for a Rail Yard Coordinator to join our team


Transcare Logistics is a wholly owned subsidiary CPKC Railway and one of the largest and the fastest steel transload (rail to truck) facility in Canada.

Canada's first automated distribution hub ensures unparalleled speed of service for coil, pipe or plate.


The
Rail Yard Coordinator is responsible for customer service, receiving and shipping customer material, inventory, truck flow and other related duties.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operating weight scale equipment (scaling trucks in and out)
  • Verifying all paperwork
  • Data entry
  • Performing site orientations
  • Understand inventory layouts and customer information requirements
  • Handle all customer service issues including, but not limited to ; providing proofs of delivery, booking carriers for rush loads, follow up on deliveries, explaining inventory discrepancies, material tracking, etc.
  • Full and accurate inventory control and documentation of loading schedules and shipping documentation
  • Provide carriers and customers with professional and timely service
  • Completing required paperwork
  • Ensure paperwork filing is accurate and completed
  • Communicate with customer service on quality results
  • Communicate with supervisor/manager on health and safety, operational and maintenance issues
  • Complies with and enforces company Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Complies with all company Standard Operating Procedures
  • Consistently and properly uses all required personal protective equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successfully pass and complete eRailsafe clearance
  • Valid G drivers license
  • Topnotch Data Entry Skills with eye for detail
  • 2 years of related railyard and exposure to shipping/receiving documents is an asset
  • Knowledge of workplace safety policies and procedures and ability to work in a safety critical environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to understand and follow oral and written communication instructions
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and job procedure manuals
  • Attention to detail and accurately complete shipping documents without error
  • Able to effectively work in both a team and individual environment
  • Ability to deal effectively and patiently with others

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Operate in indoor and outdoor environments, in all inclement weather conditions. Exposure to hot, cold, humid, rain and snow
  • Must be able to work closely with teammates and independently
