Join us and let's work together for a better BC. Position OverviewAn enthusiastic Marketing or Commerce Co-op student is required to assist the Marketing and Customer Communications Manager in the Events group
The Marketing/Business Co-op will:
Gain experience within FortisBC's Marketing and Customer Communications Team.
Work on assignment and projects to provide opportunities for engagement with various levels of staff
Develop an understanding of the workings within the department and FortisBC.
Gain experience in effective team and partner collaborations. Responsibilities
Working in accordance with the organization's strategic vision, core values and leadership competencies, some of the duties of this position involve:
Assisting with booking events.
Co-ordinating communication materials and messaging for events.
Assisting with messaging for social media and/or distributions of photos at events.
Work collaboratively with various groups in the organization including project teams & community liaisons. Requirements
Education
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Business Program pursuing Marketing, Commerce or a related field at an accredited institution with intent to return to school after the Co-op work term.
Must be enrolled in a Co-op Program.Qualifications:
Creative thinker with strong skills in the use of business analysis, financial evaluation methods, and project management.
Ability to communicate effectively and to maintain collaborative relationships.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong presentation skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word.
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving - capable of complex reasoning analysis.
Interpersonal skills - able to collaborate on projects, maintain effective relationships, and communicate clearly.
Independent - ability to work well under limited supervision.
Knowledge of SharePoint an asset.
Customer Service experience an asset.
Valid class 5 BC driver's license or equivalent. Additional Information
This is an 8 month co-op term starting September 2023.
