ABOUT THE ROLE
CMTO is seeking a Data Analyst to lead and support College wide data initiatives.

The Data Analyst will collect and process data and determine the best way to represent it visually to internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for the organization's overall data strategy.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As Data Analyst under the direction of the Manager, IT Applications you will:

  • Be a key driver for the College's Data Management Strategy and in implementing industry best practices in data management.
  • Assist with the design, development, implementation of standard data definitions, data descriptions, data structure, data formatting and reporting.
  • In collaboration with program staff, explore and report on data quality issues or risks with the data, and identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the accuracy.
  • Use software tools to design, build and maintain reports and data visualizations to support regular and ad hoc analysis of quantitative and qualitative data in collaboration with Business Process Analyst.
  • Prepare and present various performance reports, infographics, dashboards and and insights through statistical analysis of College's data to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide support for ETL processes and data migration efforts across all digital transformation projects and initiatives at the College.

SKILLS

  • Organization, time management and planning skills with proven ability to manage and deliver on multiple and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability of critical thinking, creativity and having a systematic and logical approach to problemsolving.
  • Technical expertise and working knowledge regarding relational databases, data models, database design development, data analytics and segmentation techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency with statistical and analytical tools like SAS, SPSS, Tableau, Power BI.
  • Strong working knowledge of database architecture and writing SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information in a userfriendly format.
  • Flexible, resilient, and resourceful in dealing with organizational change and shifting priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in data/computer science or intelligence analysis plus 3 years working as a researcher or data analyst or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A post graduate degree or 46 years' experience preferred.
  • 35 years' progressive experience as a researcher or data analyst responsible for conducting research, data mining, analysis and reporting.
  • Superior proficiency in the use of advanced technology tools for data modelling, data visualization, intelligence analysis, reporting and in daily work.
  • Experience in lead and support organization wide data initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience with data mining, research and statistical methods for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to present data in various formats (PowerPoint, spreadsheets, dashboards, reports, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA), the Massage Therapy Act and other relevant legislations and regulations and all College policies, standards and guidelines.
