This position resides in the Ministry of Health under
Procurement & System Optimization Secretariat division. This newly created division will focus on procurement efficiencies and system optimization as part of health care refocusing.


Role Responsibilities:


This position is responsible for managing and supporting contracting, supply chain operations and business administration functions within the province for Alberta Health Services Contracting, Procurement and Supply Management (CPSM) department.

The position works closely with multifaceted contracting teams within AHS and PSOS in relation to Clinical and Non-Clinical Supplies, Equipment, Services, Construction and Information Technology Sourcing and Contracting agreements.

The Manager will ensure adherence to established and defined contracting processes in accordance with corporate policies, procedures, trade agreements, and legislation.


This role necessitates a strong grasp of AHS' business systems, reporting protocols, and financial controls governing procurement and financial operations within AHS.

Additionally, it mandates comprehensive expertise and qualifications in project management and financial tasks, including a deep understanding of AHS' overarching financial systems and their integration into CPSM's processes and controls.

Qualifications:


University graduation in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related field, plus a minimum of progressively three (3) years of progressive experience in Procurement and or/ Contract Management within a large-scale public organization


Equivalency:

Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.


Required experience:


  • Experience managing unionized employees
  • Demonstrated proficiency with process improvement methodologies and change management techniques
  • Experience successfully managing projects of considerable scope and impact
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and adeptness with Oracle ERP system

The following is considered an
asset:

Supply Chain Management Procession or Procurement Management Association of Canada designation.
