Job Description:

As a branch driver, you will be required to exert physical effort and handling of heavy products, but we promise to give you lots of time to regroup with an awesome work-life balance When not on deliveries, you will be a valued member of our warehouse team, helping with the accurate shipping and receiving of product.

Main Responsibilities:

Safely load and unload product using the appropriate equipment.
Know our product and your route. We value our customer(s) time we get it right the first time.
Know our customers. Greet and assist them in a friendly and efficient manner.

Shipping

Pick orders and prepare them in staging areas for delivery
Assist with loading of delivery trucks
Pick orders for immediate pickup
Ensure accuracy of order against paperwork
Follow branch procedure for obtaining customer confirmation of order completion

Receiving

Move incoming product to staging area for crossdocking as directed
Move incoming product to designated location in branch

Customer Service- Greet customers entering the warehouse by addressing them verbally

Serve them immediately or indicate that they will be helped as quickly as we can manage
Assist customers with the loading of product in accordance with Gentek rules for safe loading (i.e. to the point of securing the load)
Refer customer inquiries/issues to the Team Lead, Warehouse Supervisor, or Branch Manager

Safety

Without fail wear all prescribed PPE as directed
Without fail, follow all safe material handling procedures
Without fail report any hazard immediately to your Manager or Supervisor

Qualifications:

Qualifications
Education/Experience/Skill

Valid Class 1 or Class 3 drivers license required
High school education required
Able to read and write word and letter/number sequences
Experience in a warehouse environment an asset

High compliance with standards, requirements, and processes. You'll come to work and give us your best each day
Emotional intelligence that facilitates respectful and courteous interactions with customers and other Gentek employees
Attentive and detailoriented

Environment & Physical/Mental Demands

Must be able to safely lift 50lbs
Must be able to operate material handling equipment
Distribution branch physical environment: noise, fluctuating temperature due to bay doors being open, constant stimulation of senses (visual, audio distractions)
