We are currently looking for a highly motivated and committed Billing Specialist to join Surex's Magrath, Alberta office.


About the role:


Reporting to the Billing Manager, the primary goal of the Billing Specialist is to support our Advisors and clients' needs or inquiries.

Your top-notch Customer Service, experience and dedication will play a key role in Surex's continued growth.

Your natural ability to thrive in a fast-paced changing environment, providing clear and concise communication both written and verbal will be influential in helping our customers experience.

Thorough hands-on training will be provided to help set you up for success with the opportunity to advance and grow within the company.


Responsibilities & Duties:


  • Answer inbound calls from advisors and clients as well as make outbound calls
  • Respond to all online inquiries from advisors and clients
  • Investigate pay questions, concerns or cancellation requests
  • Assess and understand clients' needs to provide viable solution(s)
  • Complete tasks efficiently and with a sense of urgency and accuracy
  • Processing various types of billing changes in PowerBroker (CRM), Zendesk & all company portals Surex represents with an in depth understanding of our Broker Management System
  • Participation in training and development programs
  • Work with other team members and customers to better understand current processes to detail suggestions, efficiencies or improvements

Qualifications & Skills:


  • 1 year of working experience with PowerBroker (CRM)
  • 1 year of working experience with Zendesk
  • 13 years of customer service experience
  • Motivated with a dedicated work ethic and a positive outlook
  • Comfortable multitasking in a fastpaced work environment
  • Results driven, strong initiative to achieve individual and team goals
  • Ability to adapt to and embrace change and technology solutions
  • High customer service standards (Prompt, responsible, reliable, courteous, friendly)
  • Prior Insurance Industry experience is considered an asset
