ACCOUNTABILITY
The After Hours staff member is accountable to the Property Manager and the Community and Partnership Co-ordinator (CPC).
FUNCTION
The After Hours staff member's role is to represent the building's management after regular hours, provide minor maintenance services and emergency services access to the building after regular hours and to maintain a daily log/communication update regarding any overall community and/or tenant issues occurring after regular hours.
DUTIES
The duties of the After Hours Staff fall under the falling categories:
1.
Maintenance Assistance
- Clean/clear spills, slush, snow from common areas, especially the entrance way
- Empty common area garbage cans as required, pick up stray trash
- Carry cell phone to receive after hour calls from tenants re: maintenance concerns
- Investigate and evaluate maintenance concerns, bringing in On Call Maintenance staff as required
- Follow instructions from On Call Maintenance staff, which includes calling service contractors and allowing access to same
- Complete supplied maintenance/building checklist nightly and submit at the end of each shift
- Call police or fire department in cases of emergency, such as fire or other life threatening situations. Provide emergency services required access.
- Periodically ensure that doors, windows, and gates are locked

Represent Property Management
- Make notes of changes in tenant behaviour for review by tenant support staff
- Monitor entry and departure of tenants and their visitors
- Write reports of unusual occurrences
- Circulate among tenants and visitors in common areas to develop a familiarity with tenants and their visitors
- Inform persons of rules if necessary, no enforcement required
Requirements:
1-2 experience working in residential buildings preferred
Experience working with marginalized communities is an asset
Reliable transportation to commute to work location
Ability to handle difficult situations in a calm manner
