About the Position:


The Manager, Talent Acquisition plays a key role in the development and implementation of sound recruitment and on-boarding strategies and programs, promoting diversity and equity best practices.

This role is central to enabling Equiton to achieve our talent goals - managing recruitment activity across the organization. The Manager, Talent Acquisition is a trusted specialist in sourcing top talent to help advance Equiton's aggressive growth plans.


Key Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Understands the business and proactively develops and executes Talent Acquisition initiatives aligned with and in support of the company's growth strategies
  • Continue to centralize the Talent Acquisition function and manage the recruitment lifecycle for the company strong partnership and ongoing communication/updates with the business the goal is for the Talent Acquisition function to be centrally positioned/quarterback all company recruitment efforts
  • Heavy focus on streamlining and designing progressive recruitment processes, initiatives and policies & procedures that promote diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Responsible for tracking recruitment approvals, status updates and generating accurate recruitment reports
  • Recruit employees who embody company values and culture focus on integrity, accountability, expertise, customer focus and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Disciplined approach to interviews, leveraging assessments and behavioural interview techniques
  • Train hiring managers on the skills necessary to effectively interview
  • Manage the website posting process and all other online postings (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.)
  • Prime liaison with recruitment agencies responsible for contract negotiation, recordkeeping, and management of preferred vendor list
  • Support the job offer process and manage the reference and backcheck process, ensuring timely completion and communication to all relevant parties
  • Coordinate summer positions/university internship recruitment cycles and represent the company in partnership with the business
  • Prime on Dayforce ATS
  • Backup on input of new employee data and ensuring onboarding materials are completed in a timely fashion

  • Solid understanding of employment law, regulations, and best practices
  • Proven multitasking skills and ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across all level of the firm drive recruitment forward while also delivering on a number of pressing recruitmentrelated projects/initiatives
  • Demonstrated expertise in preparing business cases, presentations and well thought out, accurate materials
  • Highly ethical, impartial, diplomatic and respectful
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Education and Experience:


  • 10+ years of experience in a recruitment specialist role working in a high growth, entrepreneurial environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; additional HR certification is an asset
  • Experience in investment or financial services or real estate property management related organization is preferred
  • Excellent understanding of provincial/federal employment law, regulations, and best practices
  • Ceridian Dayforce highly desirable
  • Proven record of delivering tangible results within a recruitment/talent leadership role build and execute Talent Acquisition programs from scratch and support the growth of an HR function
