POSITION:
Early Learning Coordinator


TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT:
Full-Time (37.5 hrs/week)


RESPONSIBLE TO:
Family Life Education Program Manager

The Early Learning Coordinator is a member of the Family Life Education Program team and is responsible for the planning and facilitation of programs in the Early Learning Centre (ELC).

All programs will be play based and will foster the physical, cognitive, emotional and social domains of children who attend early learning programs.


Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:


  • Provide a stimulating, caring, inclusive, safe, and clean environment in the Early Learning program rooms.
  • Ensure children's safety by identifying and preventing potential risks and health hazards.
  • Develop program curriculum for the programs and courses assigned to you through the Family Life Education program. All curriculums must be approved by the Program Manager.
  • Plan programs and ensure that all materials required for each program and course is available well in advance.
  • Let Program manager know when supplies are needed
  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the Early Learning program rooms which includes ensuring all play materials and equipment are clean, and put away. Laundry is done weekly.
  • Ensure that the classroom and program materials are set up and prepared prior to the program participant's arrival.
  • View all children as unique individuals, who are passing through differing levels of development and learning.
  • Participate in all activities, including dramatic play, songs, stories, games and large motor activities. Assist individual or small groups of children with specific learning tasks and play.
  • Responsible for daily bathroom routines.
  • Supervise and monitor the safety, health and wellbeing of the children at all times.
  • Collaborate on bulletin boards, labels and displays in the ELC and other program rooms.
  • Plan nutritious snacks.
  • Role model engaging in play in accordance with our learning through play philosophy.
  • Maintain accurate records for the program, which includes registration and daily attendance forms.
  • Assist with the upkeep of the Playground.
  • Assist with all special events.
  • Participate in team meetings and discuss areas for growth, opportunity and improvement.
  • Report all concerns to the Program Manager.
  • Represent St Albert FRC in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  • Perform other tasks that may be necessary to ensure that St. Albert FRC programs are a success.

Qualifications required:


  • Childcare assistant, worker or supervisor (formerly level 1, 2 or 3)
  • Experience working in an early childhood setting.
  • Experience in program planning and implementation.
  • Excellent knowledge of child development.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • First Aid /CPR Certificate.
  • Criminal Records Check
  • Intervention Record Check

Hours of Work:

Full-time (37.5 hrs/week)

Monday - Friday 8:30-4:30 pm


Start Date:

ASAP

Salary:
$18.00-$21.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff are required to have a double vaccination
