Summary:

Axis Family Resources Ltd.

is hiring
a Temporary Part Time Family Outreach Counsellor as a part of the Intensive Family Intervention Program, working with families and individuals within families.

Service will prioritize providing family of origin/ systems work with adults around trauma resolution, disrupted attachment with children, and may include group work.

Families involved will stabilize and gain practical and applicable skills for dealing with family crises and abusive or neglectful situations.

Counsellors will develop, implement, and evaluate family-based intervention plans, participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of and person served service plans in conjunction with the integrated case management team.

Building and maintaining healthy relationships with our Persons Served through a trauma-informed practice is the core of our work.

Qualifications & Requirements:


  • A bachelor's level degree in Social Work, Child & Youth Care, or other related Social Science. The equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, preferably in the specific field of outreach, crisis intervention, or family counselling.
years' experience in social services.

  • Reliable transportation and a valid BC driver's licence.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to work with complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD or other neurobiological conditions is beneficial.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (agency conducted, expenses covered).
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
