Position Summary and Job Magnitude
The Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring the financial function for Campus Living Centres and any related affiliations are completed accurately and to industry standards.
This includes the management and administration of the Finance Department and the preparation, administration and monitoring of:monthly accounting, financial planning and reporting.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties

Finance
- Provide support and supervision to the Finance Department.
- Ensure that all monthend financial accounting duties and all resulting financial reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner, distributing monthend statements by the due date to clients.
- Coordinate all activities within the Finance Department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting.
- Directly supervise and support the Senior Property Accountants and Property Accountants at the Finance Office.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Assist in the recruitment, training and performance evaluation of Finance personnel.
- Review monthly HST returns and other remittances as required.
- Provide support in the development of business proposals.
- Supervise and assist property accountants with monthly income statement analysis.
- Maintain cash forecasts, accurately predicting cash needs and distributions.
- Keep abreast of federal, provincial and municipal developments, laws and policies that may affect the financial operations of the organization.
- Assist with yearend audits preparation and facilitate with auditors to provide required information.
- Ensure Clients have all necessary information in a timely fashion.
- Maintain a professional business relationship with all primary contacts.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
***Education: Recognized University Degree
CPA Accounting designation
Experience Required:
Minimum of 5 years industry experience or equivalent
