The Recreation Therapy Program and Placement Coordinator is an essential member of the college's support team, contributing to students' overall well-being and enhancing their college experience through engaging and meaningful recreational opportunities.


Responsibilities:


  • Teach scheduled program classes including Field Placement Seminar
  • Provide support to students in the Program.
  • Monitor Program
  • Monitor and verify placement documents.
  • Secure, allocate and manage placement connections.
  • Conduct placement visits
  • Oversee the Peer to Peer support program.
  • Coordinate Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings and Coordinate annual Program Curriculum Committees (PCC)

Requirements:


  • Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a directly related field is required. A Master's degree in Recreation Therapy (or directly related field) is preferred.
  • Three to five years relevant experience in therapeutic recreation services is required.
  • Three to five years of teaching experience in a postsecondary setting would be preferred.
  • Applicants must be registered as members of the Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
