We are currently looking for a
Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This position will be based out of our Sussex, NB location at Prestige Homes Inc.


Reporting directly to the Director, Human Resources with dotted line reporting to the General Manager of Prestige Homes, the
Human Resources Generalist provides consistent employee/labour relations support that fosters positive employee relations to create an environment where individuals and teams can thrive and deliver high performance.

The Human Resources Generalist works collaboratively with leadership to support the day to day operations and execute aligned local, divisional and corporate human resources programs and initiatives successfully within the organization.

The Human Resources Generalist will also be responsible for;

  • Responding to employee inquiries within a timely manner. According to circumstances, provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution, redirecting or escalating as appropriate.
  • Conducting (or cofacilitating) new hire orientation to ensure successful onboarding of all new hires.
  • Providing coaching to leaders regarding reinforcing goals and/or any issues related to employee performance, productivity or behaviour based on established policy, practice and/or contract. Reviewing documentation and prepares letters of discipline when required, supporting the process to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Creating and executing recruitment and selection strategies; collaborating with departmental managers to ensure an understanding and fulfillment of workforce requirements across all divisions.
  • Providing data analytics reports to leaders in support of business reporting, planning and workforce management.
  • Maintaining HR Information System and complete employee files for all hourly employees.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of all Corporate HR policies and initiatives.
  • Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies, ensuring they are in line with current legislation and consistent across organization where possible.
  • Conducting research, performing analysis, and making recommendations for new approaches for continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performing other related duties as required.
  • Postsecondary education in HR or businessrelated field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a Human Resources environment, with experience in recruitment & selection and employee/labour relations.
  • Must have access to own transportation and have ability to travel throughout NB and NS as required.
  • Strong organizational skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS programs. Previous experience using Ceridian Dayforce is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • A high level of integrity with ability to navigate sensitive issues in the workplace.
  • A selfmotivated individual that can work well independently and also as part of a team.
  • Approachable demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people at all levels of the organization.
