Overview

  • The primary objective of the Storekeeper is to receive and maintain inventory and dispense parts and supplies in accordance with plant maintenance, operating requirements and procurement rules. The Storekeeper will be responsible for ensuring accurate accounting and control of inventory and maintaining proper procedures around materials management.
  • Structure
  • The Storekeeper is a member of the procurement team and reports to the Warehouse Supervisor
    Responsibilities:
  • Unloads and receives parts and supplies.
  • Identifies, records and places parts and supplies in proper warehouse location.
  • Conducts annual physical inventory counts.
  • Issues parts and supplies as required by maintenance and operating personnel.
  • Adds new items to inventory control system.
  • Institutes daily and monthly inventory control computer reports.
  • Packages and ships parts to be repaired or sent elsewhere.
  • Deletion and removal of obsolete inventory.
  • Prepares bill of lading shipping forms.
  • Resolves freight shipping discrepancies.
  • Specifics accountabilities:
  • Operates within labor overtime budget
  • Maintains accurate physical inventory and value
  • Resolves transportation difficulties
  • Thorough working knowledge of computerized inventory control system
  • Physical security of inventory
  • Interdepartmental problemsolving with Maintenance to reduce inventory and obsolescence
  • Minimum inventory value

  • Inventory items Approximately 11,000 SKUs


  • Safety Responsibility

  • Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS policies to assure that environmental, health and safety are the first priority of the business. Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist the department as needed to improve EHS performance and results.

Qualifications and qualities:


  • Possess high mechanical aptitude
  • Minimum of high school graduate with computer training
  • Typing skills with minimum of 2535 wpm
  • Inventory control seminars recommended
  • Possess skills to communicate effectively with peers, suppliers, and internal customers.
  • Possess skills in the art of negotiation, analysis, troubleshooting and communication.
