Department Overview
The Communications department provides a range of communications advice, counsel and support to the enterprise for a variety of internal and external audiences across various mediums.
The team performs tasks ranging from crafting timely and relevant communications, to working with the media, traditional and social influencers, customers/consumers and business partners to ensure balanced, factual coverage of TD Bank Group.

Do you have considerable experience in corporate communications? Do you enjoy leading development and execution of plans, programs, projects and strategies by crafting and delivering communications consistent with TD's corporate standards and strategies, and in support of business results? If yes, then we would like to hear from you for the position of
Corporate Communications Manager I.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Understand key business partners' objectives, direction and ongoing initiatives and advice the leadership teams on appropriate communication strategies and tactics
- Develop/manage the execution of internal/external strategic and tactical communications on behalf of senior management, ensuring the improvement of TD's presence with key partners, highlighting TD's brand, community, and innovation initiatives
- Handle ongoing relationships with key shareholders and/or third parties to coordinate all internal/external communication activities and project deliverables
- Handle project budgets within forecasted spend
- Arrange for timely billings, maintain progress billing standard and promptly communicate variances
- Confirm quarterly forecast amounts (invoices and estimates) for budget lockdown
- Handle communications projects / programs / initiatives of low to moderate scope and complexity that require indepth knowledge in own domain and working knowledge of broader related areas
- Integrate the broader organizational context into advice and solutions within own area
- Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and collaboration and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
- Provide thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for own area of expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit
- Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques
Job Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required
- Over 5 years of relevant work experience required
- Proficient knowledge of multiple communications disciplines, media channels, internal/external audiences, public relations, consulting principles, lines of businesses supported, banking industry, and customers supported
- Knowledge of risk management environment, standards and regulations
- Proficient to handle a budget and work within the constraints of that budget
- Ardent to lead, plan, implement and evaluate program/project activities to ensure completion of initiatives
- Sound understanding of problem solving techniques, effective questioning and conflict resolution
- Hands on knowledge of using analytical software tools, data analysis methods, reporting techniques and MS Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communications to interact with all levels of staff and convey business context clearly and effectively in a fastchanging environment
- An analytical mind with orientation to detail and strong judgement skills to maintain discretion in handling confidential information
