The SNC-Lavalin Environment & Sustainability Practice has one of the most experienced consulting teams in Canada and is currently seeking an intermediate -level
Environmental Coordinator with at least 5 years of experience to support our Western Canada Team.

You will play a key role as part of our Environmental Permitting & Management Team in executing work related to the environmental management of small
- to medium
- sized projects throughout British Columbia.

You will be responsible for:


  • Act as the projectlevel environmental representative for clients
  • Ensure that environmental and archaeological risks are fully captured and incorporated into projects within the Province of BC.
  • Prepare scope and cost estimates to support project design phase and construction phase
  • Manage scope, budgets, schedules, change management and deliverables according to contract terms.
  • Subconsultant and subcontractor management and coordination.
  • Support regulatory review process, as directed by clients.
  • Prepare environmental protection and mitigation plans.
  • Prepare or coordinate technical reports associated with regulatory approvals or compliance requirements
  • Ensure quality of work including work plans, field programs, data collection and anlysis, mapping, technical reports and management plans, environmental monitoring.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced staff to complete quality and timely deliverables or tasks.
  • Relationship management on behalf of, and as directed by clients with Project stakeholders, partners, agencies and Indigenous groups.
  • Periodic field work.

Qualifications:


  • Experience completing projects on time and within budget with a high degree of client satisfaction.
  • A university degree or college diploma in environmental science or related studies. Graduate level training is an asset.
  • Work experience as an environmental consultant.
  • At least 5 years of experience with a focus in environmental management.
  • Diplomatic and direct verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of applicable environmental legislation, regulatory permits and approvals, bylaws, environmental best management practices.
  • Considerable knowledge in environmental protection and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and succeed in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Professional accreditation or eligibility is considered an asset (e.g., R.P. Bio., EP, PMP, P.Ag., P.Eng., RPP)
  • Demonstrated experience as an environmental monitor during construction is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
