Elements Casino Surrey is seeking a new member to join our team.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring all Drivers are adhering to race schedules and are the main liaison between Drivers and the Judges during live racing.

Superior public relations and a professional manner must be exhibited at all times.


Qualifications

  • Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Possess a professional attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and be a team player
  • Must possess excellent verbal and organizational skills
  • Dependable, self motivated and reliable
  • Receive clearance from the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
  • Ability to obtain licensing examination with the horse racing registration organization (Standardbred Canada)
  • Some knowledge of horses and horse racing (preferred)
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask and meet stipulated deadlines
  • Must be available to work during Live Racing times including days, nights and weekends
  • Be an effective communicator
  • Must be detailed orientated

Duties

  • Responsible for ensuring all Drivers are in the Paddock a minimum of one hour before each race
  • Oversee and handle any issues within the Paddock area
  • Match horse identification numbers to Tattoo Sheet during qualifying races
  • Make announcements over the PA System
  • Interact and communicate information between the Drivers and Judges
  • Participate in a professional, constructive and supportive environment for all Fraser Downs Racetrack & Casino Employees
  • Any other duties as assigned or directed
