Educational Requirements:


  • Occupational Health Nursing Diploma/Certificate (for RN applicants) or currently working towards / agreement to work towards a certificate in disability management (CDMP) is strongly preferred and a commitment to ongoing education / certification is required
  • Ability to speak fluently in French and understand spoken French is an asset

Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Demonstrated working knowledge of and understanding of disability legislation and regulations, including Duty to Accommodate, Employment Standards Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Human Rights Legislation, Accessibility Ontario Disability Act (AODA), Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Experience in Disability management (STD, LTD, WSIB claims) and return to work case management
  • Previous Experience working in a similar role is preferred

Summary of Duties:


  • Provide primary care for employee occupational and nonoccupational injury and illnesses including case management expertise in STD, LTD and WSIB programs and Return to Work programs
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in facilitating early and safe return to work
  • Complete baseline health assessments for new hires, including mask fit testing and immunization review in alignment with Ontario Hospitals Association guidelines
  • Experience in using physical demands analysis, ergonomic assessments, independent medical examination, or vocational rehabilitation assessments as tools for disability management
  • Promote, monitor, evaluate, and respond to the staff absence reporting system. Provide support to leaders in managing absenteeism.
  • Act as a professional resource with regards to communicable diseases, infection prevention protocols, and pandemic related policies/procedures
  • Plans, promotes, organizes Occupational Health activities i.e. violence training, education sessions, wellness activities
  • Preparation of reports/policies i.e. incidents and statistics
  • Active member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee, Emergency Preparedness Committee, Wellness Committee
  • Chair of the Disability Management Committee & Hazardous Drug Committee
  • Coordinate and implement annual influenza vaccine clinics
  • Applicants must have an excellent work record, including attendance
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, counseling, and leadership skills
  • Exceptional time management, multitasking and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to exercise sound and timely, professional judgment in complex situations.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

$41.48-$48.08 per hour
