Role Summary


Reporting to the Head Chef, the Chef de Partie willassist in food preparation, participate in creating and maintaining a positive work environment, and maintaining high internal/external customer service standards.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensures food preparation and service delivery standards are consistently achieved and maintained
  • Supervises all kitchen staff in absence of the Head Chef
  • Participants in the production of all event orders
  • Ensures quality, quantity and presentation of all food prepared meets the Coast Hotels standards for freshness, appearance and consistency
  • In conjunction with the Head Chef ensures correct daily requisitioning, receiving, storage and rotation of food are carried out
  • Prepares and follows a daily prep sheet
  • Prepares and cooks food as outlined in the menu descriptions
  • Assists in the coordination of timing for food preparation and service
  • Is committed to working safely, including adherence to food safety regulations, hygiene and cleanliness
  • Ensures the security and control of all food stocks used in the kitchen to ensure minimum food wastage
  • Cover the duties of the Head Chef on days off and vacation time
  • Performs other duties as assigned and directed by management
Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a professional kitchen
  • The following certifications are required: Red Seal (preferred), and Food Safe Level I.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Selfmotivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, multitasking, multifunctional team environment required
  • Demonstrated superior customer service required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English is essential
  • Able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, breakfast, and holidays
  • Must be able to lift 50lb
Must be available various hours which will include 5:00am start times.
