The Opportunity
McDonald's Canada has an opportunity for a Regional Human Resources Consultant based in Montreal, Quebec.

Reporting to the Regional HR Manager, you will be a key member of the Eastern Regional Human Resources team, working in tandem with the National Human Resources team.


As the Regional HR Consultant for Quebec, you will focus on:

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders throughout the province of Quebec: You will work as counsel to provide guidance, training and development to key stakeholders on People practices, policies, procedures, strategies and systems, to achieve self-sufficiency and shared accountability.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of people initiatives: You will support, and execute on various people initiatives such as attraction, recruitment, retention, engagement, compensation and benefits, and rewards and recognition. You will collaborate with Operations, Learning and Development, Communications, Operators, etc. to lead and assist with the implementation of these programs.
  • Being proactive: You will anticipate current employment landscape challenges and work together with other areas of the business to implement strategies for mitigation.
  • Being a strategic HR

Business Partner:
You will be a strategic partner to your Provincial Leadership Teams and participate in the business planning process.

  • Innovation: You will drive innovation and change of people practices that improve business results.

What you bring

  • Collaborative and communication skills: Refined consultative approach that engages stakeholders in a collaborative manner. Very strong customer focus with keen attention to detail and ability to translate requirements into action. Excellent written, oral and presentation skills. Ability to present, influence and communicate information based on target audience.
  • Innovative problemsolving skills: High attention to detail and is able to develop and present recommendations supported by data. Able to contribute innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Qualifications:


  • The experience: 24+ years of progressive HR experience with deep knowledge of workplacerelated legislation, human resources policies and practices, recruitment and retention, talent management, and investigations. Familiar with best practices, HR tools and programs, and emerging trends and issues.
  • The education: Postsecondary education with a focus on Human Resources or a related field of study. A Human Resources designation is an asset (CPHR).
  • Travelling will be required according to business needs.


  • Bilingualism (French, English)

  • For this position, when an employee is based in Montreal, French will be the primary language of business. In addition to the knowledge of French, the position of Regional Human Resources Consultant
  • Eastern Canada region requires strong oral and written English skills. Our organization is present throughout Canada as well as in many other countries. Following an assessment, we have determined that the duties related to the position of Regional Human Resources Consultant
  • Eastern Canada region require the knowledge of English, in addition to French (both oral and written). This position requires, among other things, the person to communicate orally and in writing with national departments, suppliers and franchisees located outside of the province of Quebec, including in Ontario and Atlantic Canada. Our organization has business that requires national coordination. We have also determined that the knowledge of English that is already required of other employees does not allow for the execution of the duties requiring the knowledge of English in connection with the position of Regional Human Resources Consultant
  • Eastern Canada. However, McDonald's restricts as much as possible the number of positions for which it requires the knowledge of a language other than French. McDonald's requires English proficiency only when necessary to the execution of an employee's duties.
