POSITION LOCATION:
FORT ERIE _

The Project Manager - Government Programs will have overall accountability of project timeline deliverables and execution.

This role is responsible for providing best-in -class service to establish, implement and monitor all activities as it relates to Government Programs.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Stakeholder Management

  • The Project Manager
  • Government Programs will work with various stakeholders to bring projects to completion on schedule, on budget and on quality.
In doing so, the Project Manager - Government Programs will ensure that all project team members:


  • Understand the scope of their commitment
  • Feel committed to their budget and schedule inputs
  • Pull on the same string to accomplish project goals
  • Feel engaged and dedicated
  • Can voice concerns
  • Are informed of project status and next steps ahead
  • Understand schedule (SPI) and budget (CPI) situation
  • Develop and maintain effective network and working relationship with extended AH team in North America & Europe

Customer Management

  • Guide customer through the aircraft acquisition and completion process
  • Focus on customer experience and managetocontract
  • Make the customer feel welcome. Listen to the customer. Understand the customer. Educate the customer. Inform the customer. Make the customer want to come back to Airbus
  • Manage difficult and controversial situations with finesse
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, in good times and in bad times

Schedule

  • Develop project schedules complete with predecessors, successors, planned and actual start
- and finish dates, critical path analysis

  • Track project schedules on a weekly basis and update with actual start/finish dates
  • Make schedule adjustments based on changing project requirements
  • Keep project team, customer and leadership informed on changing project milestones
  • Track Schedule Performance Indicator (SPI)

Budget

  • Develop project budgets with inputs from functional departments
  • Verify inputs from functional departments
  • Check overall validity of budget inputs
  • Adjust budget based on change orders
  • Track Cost Performance Indicator (CPI)

Contract Management

  • Support sales and offers teams with technical advice, e.g. configuration, compatibility etc.
  • Full ownership of contract from early in the process all the way through completion
  • Realtime and accurate tracking of contractual changes, i.e. change order management reflected in schedule and budget adjustments
  • Interpretation of contractual requirements, and, as needed, feedback solicitation with internal counsel

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:


  • University degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or Operations Management
  • PMP certification considered an asset

Experience:


  • 7 years' experience in business development / sales and or working in or with the department of Department of National Defence
  • 7 years' experience in or with the Canadian military
  • Experience in working in a project management role
  • Experience in and knowledge of the Canadian military procurement process considered an asset
  • Experience in and knowledge of the Canadian military airworthiness processes considered an asset
  • Previous aerospace experience considered an asset
  • Experience responding to RFPs considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:


  • Thorough understanding of Aircraft completion process and well established network within the Aerospace community
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills & ability to coach/mentor/inspire staff
  • Ability to meet goals and targets independently and without daytoday active management
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to set priorities and undertake initiative to time sensitive demands & deadlines
  • Customer focused & Business oriented mindset and approach
  • Effective collaboration agility
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraints
  • Results driven individual who fosters teamwork
  • Bilingualism (French-English) an asset
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Knowledge of SAP considered an asset
  • Knowledge of MS Project considered an asset
