The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a
Smelter Maintenance Supervisor to join our
Glencore
Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

The position will be based in Falconbridge, Ontario.

Site is not accessible by public transportation.

This is a permanent, full-time, staff position.

Duties and Accountabilities:

Reporting to the Smelter Maintenance General Foreman, the Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for the supervision of trades personnel so that budgetary targets are met or exceeded regarding safety and health, production, metallurgical and quality performance, operating economics, environmental compliance and productivity.

This involves close communication and coordination with fellow reports, and relies heavily upon the incumbent providing leadership and technical expertise to subordinates.

Education and Skills

This position requires the completion of related trades certification and a minimum of 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The incumbent must possess excellent leadership abilities and superb communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of functions simultaneously.

A degree in mechanical engineering or related field would be considered an asset.
