Summary:

Our Blue Streak-Hygrade Motor Products division allows SMP to lead the way in the Canadian automotive aftermarket where we supply the highest quality engine management and temperature control product for domestic and import vehicles.

We have marketed our lines in Canada under the Blue Streak name since the late 1940s.

The Warehouse Associate performs a variety of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming product, picking, and filling orders from stock, stacking, and wrapping product and/or building pallets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1)
Material Handling
a) Replenish stock in the pick locations with the use of query sheets, and they are putting things in reserve that are excess of the pick location

i) Use of pallet truck, walkie and Pick cart to put parts that have been received into proper locations, and then pull out in order to replenish depleted products to allow pickers to prepare for orders to be shipped

ii) Need certification

Order Picking

Using RF prepare customer orders by accurately picking and packing products into cartons and/or skids for shipping.
Coordinates with the shipping department to have orders picked up and staged in the shipping area for finishing.

Receiving/Putaway

Unpack skids of products received on replenishment shipments from U.S. facilities and place cartons near check in area.
Check in product using RF to receive and place in storage bins for putaway.
Place storage bins on carts and using RF put away product promptly and correctly in designated locations.

Training

Conduct training of other employees as assigned.
Participate in training sessions as required.

5)
Housekeeping

Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Place all scrap materials in designated bins located throughout warehouse.

6)
Occupational Health and Safety

Report all incidents, accidents and/or hazards.
Participate and/or cooperate with JHSC to improve safety.
Wear personal protective equipment (i.e. safety shoes).
Adhere to Lockout procedures.
Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
Comply with the Workplace Safety Insurance Act.

7)
Employee Relations

Communicate with administrative, warehouse and supervisory staff as required.
Perform compulsory overtime as required and in accordance with legislative requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor and/or manager.
Comply with company Rules of Conduct as stated in the Employee Handbook.
Comply with the company rules, regulations and policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.

8)
Quality Assurance

Report any deficiencies in our systems, facilities, machinery, equipment and/or tools immediately to your supervisor.
Report any product damage/nonconformities to your supervisor.
