- A.S.P. School Crossing Guards are responsible for conducting safe and friendly crossings of pedestrians at_
What you will do:
- Safely assist all pedestrians in crossing the road.
- Exercise sound judgement and determine safe gaps in traffic for crossing purposes.
- Communicate clearly and effectively to crosswalk users regarding safe and unsafe crossing practices.
- Act in a manner that reflects a positive image of ASP and the School Crossing Guard profession.
- Exercise excellent customer service demeanor.
- Be punctual and remain on site for full shift durations (morning, lunch, and dismissal).
- Report all safety concerns promptly to an A.S.P. supervisor.
- Be responsible for travelling to and from shift assignments.
- Required to work in all weather conditions such as cold, snow, rain, heat, humidity, and wind.
- Wear the A.S.P. uniform and personal protective equipment as assigned at all times.
Who you are:
- Prior relevant experience is an asset but not required.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada (weekly 3035 hours for fulltime, weekly 14 hours for casual).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English (spoken and written).
- Great organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Able to pass background screening requirements.
- Physically able to perform the role:
- Possess general alertness and vigilance of surroundings
- Be able to briskly and repeatedly walk in and out of the intersection to conduct crossings
- Stand for full shift durations, up to two hours at a time
- Be able to carry and raise a stop sign to shoulder height for several minutes frequently (1 pound)
- Must have good vision and hearing to observe oncoming traffic
- Able to tolerate exposure to road conditions such as salt, traffic sounds, construction, and exhaust

- Compensation: $15.68/hour, crossing guard category benefits, two weeks vacation annually.
