About the role
We're looking for a
Corporate Specialist to join our growing team


As a Property & Casualty Specialist in the National Corporate P&C team, you will be responsible for supporting Specialty Solutions with a focus in the
Specialty Equipment Breakdown line of business.


What you'll do here:


  • Support the strategic product development plan to achieve growth targets
  • Develop guidelines, authority statements and manage the referral process to support performance and underwriting
  • Gather market intelligence by working directly with distribution, brokers and customers and compare Intact's product offering to the competition
  • Research technologybased solutions for pricing, underwriting, risk assessment and loss mitigation opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to explore new growth and profitability opportunities through technical research and relationship building.
  • Assist in portfolio management through governance best practices, profitability and growth analysis.
  • Perform technical underwriting audits
  • Communicate changes related underwriting guidelines and new products.
  • Provide underwriting training, lending expertise colleagues and distribution underwriters

What you bring to the table:

  • University degree/College diploma and completed CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional), or any combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant Commercial/Specialty Equipment Breakdown underwriting experience
  • Detailed knowledge of P&C wordings, products, appetite and philosophies, along with underwriting guidelines, systems and procedures
  • Experience with Large/Complex placements is an asset
  • Highly organized, with the ability to work towards goals while adapting to change in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to persuade as well as challenge others
  • Can deal effectively and respectfully with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Selfstarter with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with national departmental teams
  • Effective analytical, negotiating and decisionmaking skills
  • Can work well under tight deadlines, including organizational and time management skills
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability
  • Digital and Data Acumen, understanding how these two items can support and facilitate the customer and Underwriters experience
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset
  • Willing to travel on occasion
