As the Strategic Legislative Analyst supporting the City Clerk¿s Office Civic Engagement and Protocol team, you will support: reviewing, updating and implementation of area policies; update and develop procedures for services; manage emerging citizen engagement initiatives; writing proclamations and other recognitions; and program and event support to Civic Engagement and Protocol services
Primary duties include:
- Deliver on Council-Directed work through research, analysis and liaising with other Business Unit partners.
- Conduct research engagements to develop and articulate partners' position on strategic issues.
- Develop governance resources and tools such as guides, procedures, templates, and website content.
- Report writing that incorporates findings and recommendations that effectively communicate key messages. Manage projects and initiatives including scope and timelines.
Qualifications
- A degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications or a related discipline with at least 2 years' experience in research, data analysis, consultation, project management and report writing.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- A valid Class 5 Drivers Licence or provincial equivalent and the use of a personal vehicle for work is also required.
- Experience in project management or coordination.
- Experience working in local government will be considered an asset.
- Highly developed political acumen, sound judgement and decisionmaking skills, and the ability to work within a confidential environment.
- Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to collaborate at all levels in a large and complex organization along with the ability to think strategically with welldeveloped analytical skills.
- Selfdirected with the ability to work independently and effectively lead multiple projects in a fastpaced, dynamic work environment.

Days of Work:
This position works a 5 day
-work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.

Standard 35 hour work week
