Department Overview


TD Finance, Treasury, and Enterprise Strategy are integral and trusted partners to businesses across the Bank, made-up of diverse teams with a range of strengths and capabilities contributing to TD's overall success.


The Finance, Treasury, and Enterprise Strategy Indigenous Internship Program is intended to recognize outstanding Canadian post-secondary students (both academically and with respect to extra-curricular and / or community service), who identify as an Indigenous person (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities) with varying roles available.

This co-op/ intern role will include an opportunity to work in-person, virtually or hybrid, in one of the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Economics
  • Tax
  • Investor Relations
  • Audit
  • Enterprise Strategy
  • Sustainability and Corporate Citizenship
  • Enterprise Real Estate
  • Treasury & Balance Sheet Management
  • Strategic Sourcing
Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD.

You will work with experienced colleagues, receive world class training, and be part of a community of students across TD, where you will have an impact, grow as individual and experience our culture of care.


Our
Co-op/Intern Programming is offered with select Co-op and Internship roles and is designed to help you better understand the TD business, build on critical career capabilities, and broaden your professional network.

This program is designed to complement your on-the job experience and features:


  • Leadership talks with key Leaders from across the organization
  • Lunch and Learns on topics such as Innovation
  • Diversity and Inclusion and Personal Branding and so much more
This opportunity will help to provide a range of experiences to help build broad business and Finance competencies.

This role will not only provide you introductory experience in a professional setting, it will also equip you with skills and experiences that contribute to the completion of your studies and prepare you to build a career in your chosen discipline.


Accountabilities may include the following:

  • Use your strong communication, analytical and problemsolving skills to add value
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses, forecasts, and business cases in support of business initiatives and indepth research projects
  • Assist with business planning, fieldwork, documentation, and reporting tasks
  • Define opportunities for continued enhancements to business processes and make recommendations for process improvements
  • Participate in transformation and innovation activities to ensure TD businesses effectively and efficiently leverage data and technology to drive better sustainable business value
  • Build a diverse skill set, implement process improvements, and develop the confidence to tackle challenging tasks

Requirements:


Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Identify as an Indigenous person (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities)
  • Be enrolled in a relevant postsecondary program, focused on Finance, Accounting, Data & Analytics, from Arts/Humanities or a related business field
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Adept at using productivity tools and enduser software (such as MS Office suite). Experience with more complex analytics tools would be an asset
  • Record of academic achievement, and demonstrated leadership with community involvement
  • Ability to take initiative and balance multiple tasks. Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, changing environment.
  • Demonstrated strong judgement, decisionmaking and analytical capabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to engage colleagues, business partners and stakeholders
