This is a short term temporary role, budgeted for 16 consecutive weeks. The hourly pay rate for this role is $24.08

JOB PURPOSE


To assist the Volunteer team in the maintenance of a robust iVolunteer resource library, development of resources for the Non-profit Sector and volunteers and the development of workflow diagrams for the Non-profit Sector.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Material Development:


  • Assist in the development of library resource materials for the Nonprofit Sector and Volunteers
  • Ensure that the materials are free of grammatical or spelling errors
  • Ensure that the content are relevant, uptodate, and and aligns with United Way British Columbia (UWBC), Volunteer Canada, Volunteer Management of Professionals best practices in volunteer management
  • Ensure that materials are easily downloadable
  • Ensure that materials follow UWBC brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with the Nonprofit Sector Volunteer Coordinator to develop workflow diagrams

General:


  • Participates in regular weekly checkin
  • Participate in regular monthly team project status meetings
  • Performs other duties related to the qualifications and requirements of the job
  • Complete formal evaluation at midpoint and near the completion of the placement
  • Complete the required minimum service hours of their placement program
  • Regularly report and track volunteer hours

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education:


  • Two (2) year diploma or equivalent university or college experience in an applicable business administration discipline (Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Information Technology Management)

Experience:


  • Two (2) years experience in conducting universitylevel research

Skills:


  • Proficiency in the use of software's, spreadsheets and other reporting tools at a moderately complex level
  • Sound knowledge of basic research at universitylevel
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously according to agreed upon schedule.
  • Must be able to meet assigned objectives by adapting and modifying the sequence of work, methods and standards to meet changing conditions
  • Ability to present complex information in an understandable manner to lay persons
  • Must exhibit high attention to task orientated detail
  • Ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external interactions is critical

Eligibility Requirements
This 16-week temporary full-time role is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Requirements for applicants to be eligible for this role are as follows:


  • You must be between 15 and 30 years of age
  • You must be either a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold Refugee Status
  • You must not have any family members working for United Way British Columbia

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must have reliable access to a working desktop or laptop
  • Must have reliable access to highspeed internet
  • Work week requirement are between Monday to Friday during business hours

This is a bargaining unit role with CUPE Local 1760, and hourly pay rate for this role is $24.08.
